Most will not materially change fleet operations.
Strip away the marketing and five themes stood out.
1. Software defined vehicles are becoming real
OEM and Tier 1 technology is moving closer to the capabilities traditionally supplied by aftermarket telematics.
2. Electric trucks have moved beyond proof of concept
The discussion is increasingly about operational economics and infrastructure.
3. AI is moving into routing and vehicle intelligence
Not simply dashboards.
4. Trailers are becoming intelligent assets
Truck and trailer data will increasingly merge.
5. Autonomy is becoming an ecosystem
Vehicle manufacturers cannot deliver commercial autonomy alone.
Computing, mapping, fleet software, infrastructure, regulation and insurance all matter.
