The UK's Driver Health Week ran from 1 to 6 September, highlighting the health and wellbeing challenges facing professional HGV drivers.

It raises a broader question for the industry.

Fleet safety systems have become extremely good at measuring the vehicle.

Increasingly, they measure driving behaviour too.

But the driver remains the largest variable.

Fatigue.

Sleep.

Stress.

Cardiovascular health.

Hydration.

Medication.

General wellbeing.

All can potentially affect driving performance.
