Vehicle cameras are becoming infrastructure sensors

Fleetclear has launched StreetVision, an AI powered visual intelligence platform that analyses imagery captured by vehicle cameras.

The objective is to convert existing road facing video into structured operational, safety and environmental information.

The platform was demonstrated at Fleetclear's OnTrack event at Dunsfold Aerodrome on 8 September.

This represents a fascinating expansion of the camera's role.

A fleet camera traditionally watches the driver or the incident.

Computer vision allows it to start watching road conditions, street infrastructure, objects, assets, environmental conditions, roadside hazards and potentially almost anything visible from the vehicle.
