Geotab wants to predict the problem before it happens
Geotab Intelligence draws on around 37 trillion data points a year to move fleet management from reactive analysis to prediction.
Geotab's latest Signals release introduces what it calls Geotab Intelligence.
Geotab says its intelligence layer draws on approximately 37 trillion data points annually from six million connected vehicles.
The objective is to move fleet management from reactive analysis towards prediction: potential vehicle faults, driver risks, fuel anomalies and route delays.
Rather than simply showing operators what happened, systems increasingly attempt to identify what is likely to happen next.
THE BIGGER TREND
Fleet technology has broadly progressed through four stages:
- Where is it? GPS tracking.
- What happened? Telematics and video.
- Why did it happen? Analytics and AI.
- What is likely to happen next? Predictive intelligence.
- And the next stage: do something about it automatically.
