Geotab takes its AI camera deeper into Asia
Geotab has launched its GO Focus Plus AI dash cam in Singapore, with voice coaching that cut tailgating by 90% in pilot testing.
Geotab launched its GO Focus Plus AI dash cam and video intelligence platform in Singapore on 3 September.
The dual-facing camera provides real-time voice coaching for behaviours including distraction, fatigue and tailgating.
Geotab says a large pilot of the voice-coaching functionality produced striking results:
Tailgating down 90%.
Mobile phone use down 95%.
The technology combines video with Geotab's broader connected-vehicle information inside MyGeotab.
WHY IT MATTERS
This is another example of the shift we highlighted in Issue 1. The value proposition for cameras is moving from: Record the collision to Understand the risk to Intervene before the collision. That changes the economics of video telematics. A recording can help determine liability. Prevention can potentially eliminate the claim. For insurers, brokers and self-insured fleets, the distinction is enormous.
